States with reciprocity agreements for electrician

The National Electrical Reciprocal Alliance (NERA) was established in 2009 as the Multi-State Reciprocal Electrical Licensing Group with the aim of identifying similarities in state electrical regulatory requirements and fostering collaboration to improve the electrical industry.

Goals

NERA serves as a platform that enables member states to respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies, natural disasters, and construction booms. Through NERA's collaborative efforts, member states can quicklymobilize resources and personnel to address urgent electrical needs

Benefits

NERA enhances the electrical industry by facilitating access to a larger pool of qualified electricians, simplifying licensing requirements for multi-state work, supporting relocation, advocating for current code adoption, enhancing employability, and promoting meaningful participation of member states.

Join the National Electrical Reciprocal Alliance (NERA)

NERA members encourage other states to consider joining our organization. Consistent interpretation of electrical regulations help protect the health, welfare, and safety of the public. In addition, electricians may more easily move from one NERA state to another to find work.

Applying for membership is easy and there are only two meetings a year—one in person and one via electronic means.
