One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) is a highly ambitious scheme that the Central government started a few years back to bring about ration card flexibility so that recipients under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) can avail themselves their monthly quota of subsidised food grains. The scheme provides free ration to migrants for 2 months including ones who do not have ration cards. The ration card can be used in ration shops in any part of the country. This project is a technology-motivated system and is announced as one of the pillars of Atma-nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
